Someone once asked us to define the word cabin. The answer was simple. A cabin is a cosy wooden space with a crackling fire where your favourite old leather chair sits. Old pictures and mirrors adorn the walls, and candles burn in each and every corner whilst a savoury chilli slowly simmers on the stove. A cabin is a space where you can be your authentic self.

If you have already decided you want a cabin in your garden , on your land or just simply in your life, you may have already started looking at some of the options that are out there. A kit cabin won’t take long to pop up, you can add features like doors windows and insulation, but generally, you end up with a soulless box. This is where we at Creative Cabins come in! We will sit down with you and listen to your ideas and vision you will no doubt already have for your new addition, giving our input where needed to ensure you are making the most out of your space and end up with something magnificent.

We use sustainably sourced wood to build our cabins, are happy to take on smaller projects as well as larger substantial timber framed cabins, venue design and build or even convert an existing building into a dwelling to rent out for extra income or simply as extra space for the family. We have converted a farm yard into a successful wedding venue, built an art room out of an old garage, converted a old shed into a stunning cabin with decked terrace and taken 4 old cart barns and turned them into a boutique B and B.

    We have a fantastic team of experts with whom we work with to execute larger builds like restaurant renovations or venue builds. We stay true to who we are and use recycled wood where possible. This gives our projects the signature finish we love.

  • Emma

    DESIGN & INTERIORS

    Emma started in property in the late 90’s and went on to be a property TV presenter for the BBC, She sold her business and moved out of the big smoke to East Sussex. It’s here she published her book, Pallet Craft, and started building cabins. Outside of her passion for carpentry and interiors, Emma runs a gorgeous B & B at the foot of the south downs. www.bluedoorbarns.com

  • Steve

    SPECIALIST CARPENTER

    Steve is a specialist carpenter with 35 years of experience under his (tool) belt. He is creative, reliable and highly skilled in many different aspects of the building trade, which adds to the service we can offer our clients. In his spare time, Steve is a dad a husband and a deep sea diver!

It began with an old dilapidated garage in the garden of one of our clients. We converted it into a beautiful summer house over 12 weeks of hard work and mind bending problem solving!

We had a lot of fun creating this space. The brief was a saloon style cabin and we were challenged with the build and styling down to the last picture on the wall.

THE SALOON

Everyone should have a space where they can kick back and relax away from the bustle of life. We built this for a client for exactly that reason.

THE DEN

We were approached by a farm who wanted to start to do weddings on their land. We went and took a look around, there were some fantastic spaces there which we felt we could work with, and turned a bunch of derelict barns into a stunning venue.
