Top tips for creating interesting spaces..

Whenever i start a project, I love to look around my clients home to get a sense of them. Which colours they like, are they minimalists or do they crave originality? All the while the build is happening, i’m planning what is going where and often buy a mirror before the bathroom is even built! It’s having a vision of not only the room or space itself, but the look and feel of every single piece of furniture, picture, throw or cushion so that it all ties together at the end. It’s my favourite part of what we do. I love to source furnishings from Antique markets and boot sales - this is a great way to save money, but also to find unique one off pieces. There are so many aspects to creating a beautifully interior designed space, lighting being key. Natural light is a blessing, but when you have a darker space, you need to get the light just right. Harsh overhead lights kill atmosphere. I will always chose wall lights and lamps to spotlighting. you can use dimmer switches so that you can create the lighting you wish to use at any given time. Bathroom lighting is most important, wall lights either side of a mirror offer the softest and most flattering light.

I WAS APPROACHED BY A PUBLISHER TO PUT TOGETHER AND WRITE THIS BOOK TO HELP PEOPLE BUILD THEIR OWN PALLET FURNITURE. BUILDING SPACES FOR PEOPLE ON THEIR LAND, OR IN THEIR BACK GARDENS, WETHER IT WAS A POTTING SHED OR A WEDDING VENUE, I DIDN’T MIND. AIR B AND B IS SO BIG TODAY, A CABIN WITH A PORCH AND FESTOON LIGHTS IS ALL YOU NEED TO PULL IN EXTRA INCOME!
